ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as network team escalation point of contact for normal business hours issues.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware, software, or other network and system problems and replaces defective components when necessary.
- Communicates with other departments to report and resolve Network related problems.
- Works with vendors to resolve complex network problems.
- Analyzes business requirements to develop technical network solutions and their framework.
- Keeps informed in latest industry news, trends, products, services, and competitors and then makes suggestions for improvements.
- Consults with users and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of data networks.
- Utilizes change management procedures and provides input for process improvement.
- Tests and implements network hardware and software.
- Provides network documentation, training, and guidance to computing system clients.
- Conducts technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
- Maintains integrity and relevance of data and network management tools.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 3 years of related experience and/or training.
- Expert knowledge of large scale IP Networks and the ability to perform complex troubleshooting across several technology platforms in a production environment.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Routing/switching vendor certifications (CCNP R&S level) preferred.
