Position Summary

You will identify and select suppliers, negotiate prices and terms with and establish and manage relationships with designated suppliers, will manage the purchasing cycle and will address supplier quality issues related to supplier product.
Duties
- Drive continuous improvement in the purchasing department's quality, cost, and delivery initiatives.
- Establish and maintain standard work documentation and procedures for compliance.
- Source materials from qualified suppliers at optimal prices while ensuring quality standards.
- Purchase products to support Materials Planning, Manufactured Products, and Non-Inventory needs.
- Collaborate with requisitioners and departments for clear product understanding before ordering and qualifying additional suppliers.
- Create and verify purchase orders with specifications and pricing.
- Distribute purchase orders to suppliers and monitor item deliveries.
- Expedite orders as needed and resolve shipping errors with suppliers.
- Verify item receipts and authorize payments, resolving invoice errors with Accounts Payable.
- Conduct analysis, develop procedures, and prevent recurring errors under management guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 0-2 years progressive experience in procurement field.OR High School Diploma plus 4 years of progressive experience in procurement field.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Direct hands-on experience in a MRP system environment.
- This is a hybrid schedule opportunity based in Mentor, OH.
- The schedule is 3 days/week onsite, 2 days/week remote.
