Director of Engineering (Greenfield Facility)
About the Opportunity:
We are searching for a passionate and results-oriented leader to spearhead the launch and ongoing operations of a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. This crucial role is responsible for ensuring the plant achieves and maintains its full potential, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Building:
Build a high-performing team of engineers and technicians focused on maintenance, reliability, and efficiency.
Provide inspiration, direction, coaching, and feedback to foster a collaborative and ownership-driven environment.
Oversee recruitment and onboarding of key personnel.
Operational Excellence:
Develop and implement robust programs for equipment maintenance, spare parts management, reliability, and utility management.
Drive strategic projects and problem-solving initiatives to maximize plant uptime and minimize downtime.
Champion the application of TPM and LEAN principles for continuous improvement.
Technical Expertise:
Manage the successful handover of ownership from project teams to the operational team.
Ensure the team has the necessary training, support, systems, and specifications to deliver sustained results.
Provide technical problem-solving support across various areas within the plant (including UHT processing, aseptic filling, and utilities).
Safety and Compliance:
Embed safety as a core value and ensure adherence to lifesaving protocols and regulations.
Maintain a deep understanding of relevant safety regulations and environmental compliance standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering or managing manufacturing operations, preferably in a remote location.
Demonstrated success in implementing new technologies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Proven ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve ambitious goals.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in working with computerized information systems relevant to manufacturing.
