QC Microbiology Analyst
1st_ Shift 7:00am-3:30pm_
SterRx, located in Plattsburg, NY, founded in 2013 as a manufacturer of sterile liquid pharmaceutical products is seeking a QC Microbiology Analyst, responsible for conducting microbiological analyses or experiments in the laboratory for quality or process control. This person will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. cGMP) and site SOPs/Quality Agreements.

What you will be doing: _
- Perform routine microbiology procedures including
- aseptic sample collection, plate reading, environmental monitoring (Static and Dynamic)
- surface monitoring, viable air sampling (SAS and STA), non-viable particle monitoring
- BET testing, membrane filtration (finished product and water)
- media fill turbidity inspections, total organic carbon, pH and conductivity
- compressed air monitoring (hydrocarbon, dewpoint, viable air, non-viable particle)
- Author and review Standard Operating Procedures
- Maintain knowledge of assigned instrumentation, equipment and operating procedures
- Perform assigned tasks on schedule according to SOPs and supervisor instructions
- Ensure adequate lab supplies are available by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating and ordering lab supplies as needed
- Maintain productivity and exhibit good work ethic
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards
- Record data and comply with applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned

What you need to have: _
- Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific field of study preferably in Microbiology
- Ability to work independently as well as in team collaboration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills, organized with high attention to detail

Physical Requirements: _
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to operate office productive equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine, and a computer printer.
Must be able to work in a noisy, controlled environment (OSHA approved)
