Staff Social Worker

This position is located at the Steuben County Community Services.

The work involves the provision of social work services to patients of the Community Mental Health program. Duties require the performance of social work in helping patients with social, emotional, and related difficulties associated with their disability. The work is performed within prescribed routines with some leeway permitted in determining the scope of work to be performed in helping the patient to adjust into his old or a new environment. The Staff Social Worker functions under the direction of the Clinic Director or his/her designee who may define or limit the work to be performed. Employees in this class are expected to meet with professionals of agencies in or outside of the community to obtain assistance and guidance for patients. Does related work as required.

MUST BE SUCCESSFUL IN A CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION AT A LATER DATE.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s Degree in social work.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Possession of a professional license and current registration, issued by the New York State Education Department, in either Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) at time of appointment.

SALARY/BENEFITS

$47,890 – $59,327 depending on qualifications
