Description
Work Specifications – Responsibilities:
- Responsible for food safety and quality
- Operates the dry and wet compactor, cleans the bay when it’s changed out
- Operates the cardboard bailer, strapping the bails/removal/storage
- Transfers waste from the inside tanker to the outside tanker, coordinating with traffic removal of full units and spotting of empties
- Clean/foams the needed floors/walls areas, the inside waste tank, floor grates in both bays
- Holds a current forklift and floor scrubber license
- Operates the cardboard bailer, weighs bails, loads cardboard trailer, fill out load sheets, can contact appropriate personnel for trailer removal
- Operates the loading of the pallet trailer, and coordinates removal with warehouse
- Operates the loading of used drums and can contact the appropriate people for removal, unload cleaning chemicals, sanitizing chemicals and reload empties onto that truck.
- Knowledge of how to dump pallets of finished product, drums of outdated ingredients, waste totes form separates, communicate with Processing department about potential problems with space in the inside waste tank
- Knowledge of setting up and removal of the metal totes for CIP process
- Acknowledge responsibilities on the PEP sheets by initialing their work
- Knowledge of seasonal jobs such as snow removal, and policing the lawns
- Carry out special projects as directed by the Plant Sanitarian
- Conducts iodine testing of iodine pail and hose stations
Requirements
Education/Prerequisite Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Equipment/Training Knowledge:
- Forklift ceritification
- Floor scrubber equipment
- Ability to properly use hand cleaning tools
- Hook up steel totes for CIP
- Annual in-house skills and knowledge improvement programs
