Summary:
The Azure Cloud Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based infrastructure on Azure, ensuring its high availability, scalability, and security. The candidate must possess a deep understanding of Azure services and demonstrate expertise in managing cloud infrastructure. This role involves technical leadership and strategic guidance in cloud computing initiatives and automation, focusing on systems and services that operate within cloud platforms. The engineer will develop and oversee cloud solutions covering application development, identity and access management, networking, security, data management, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Configure and manage Azure resources including virtual machines, storage, networks, and security components.
- Implement and oversee Azure-specific solutions such as Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, and Azure Site Recovery.
- Utilize tools like PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible for automation and configuration management.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to enhance application performance and address issues.
- Enforce security standards and compliance across cloud services, maintaining robust security measures.
- Develop and update documentation related to cloud architectures, configurations, and operations.
- Manage backups, resource monitoring, and participate in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
- Provide technical leadership in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues, ensuring solutions meet technical and functional requirements.
Requirements
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills, capable of resolving tier I and II issues within expected SLAs.
- Experience with PaaS and IaaS components within Azure, and familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Preferable experience within the financial sector or a similarly regulated technology environment.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience across multiple IT disciplines such as technical architecture, network management, or application development.
- Proficiency with Azure in an enterprise environment, with Microsoft Azure certifications strongly preferred.
- Experience with AWS is considered a significant asset.
- Strong foundational knowledge in operating systems (Linux, Unix, Solaris, Windows) and basic cybersecurity principles.
