Assistant/Associate Professor, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science

Job Description Stevens Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty opening in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (CEMS) starting as early as September 1, 2022. The position is anticipated to be filled at the rank of assistant professor, but candidates with a track record of success in scholarship, funded research, teaching and mentoring will be given consideration at the associate or full professor rank. CEMS has its research centered in areas broadly related to the ongoing strategic plan of the University, where artificial intelligence, biomedical & healthcare technologies, energy and sustainability, and quantum science & engineering are some of the focus areas for research. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science. While all research areas will be considered, candidates with interests relevant to the institutional strategic areas listed above are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates with a demonstrated expertise using methods of data science and machine learning in their research programs are of particular interest. Successful applicants will be expected to have the potential to develop a strong externally funded research program and demonstrate a commitment and ability to teach courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
