Plant Health Care Manager

Stevenson Tree Care is hiring for a Plant Health Care Technician position. This role requires a balance of physical exertion, scientific and mechanical aptitude, situational awareness, and common sense. We provide you with the tools, equipment, and training to work safely and effectively. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license

Beneficial Qualifications

• Degree in Botany, Biology, Arboriculture, Horticulture or related field
• Related tree, plant, or landscape work experience
• Current Iowa pesticide applicator license

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Diagnose insect, disease, and environmental conditions
• Evaluate and recommend treatment options
• Ensure proper preparation and application of treatments
• Be able to obtain a valid pesticide applicator license within 3 months
• Spray, inject, and apply fertilizer, insecticides, fungicides, and growth regulator
• Learn specifics of insect and disease life cycles, plant biology, and soil biology
• Perform accurate and timely record-keeping
• Effectively set and manage your own schedule
• Assist tree and lawn crews as needed

Work Environment

• Able to work in varying weather conditions
• Able to regularly lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs
• Team oriented, coachable, and willing to learn new skills
• Committed to learning industry best practices
