Job Summary
Responsible for assisting Facilities Assistant Manager to ensure the smooth operation, general maintenance, or prompt repair of Stifel facility systems. Will be involved in project design of layout for new and/or office moves. Manage construction projects. Oversee the products, services and schedules of vendors. Work may involve reviewing contracts to ascertain service; answering inquiries from vendor companies and contractor companies regarding methods, material, and price ranges; and approving billing for products, material, services, and other expenses. Ability to use basic hand tools to perform repairs to finishes, equipment, furnishings, etc.
- Patrol and monitor work areas and examine systems to ensure safe conditions or to detect and report on violations of procedures or safety rules.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
- Participate in budget preparation and administration, coordinating purchasing and documentation, and monitoring departmental expenditures.
- Requisition materials and supplies, such as equipment, replacement parts, etc.
- Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate general maintenance, major and minor repairs, and remodeling or construction projects for properties.
- Manage and oversee operations, maintenance, administration, and improvement of properties.
- Maintain records of maintenance, operating costs, and special permits issued.
- Determine and certify the eligibility of prospective vendors.
- Prepare detailed budgets and financial reports for properties.
- Ability to obtain and see to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
- Ability to oversee the performance of other individuals, systems or processes to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Ability to identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
- Knowledge and use of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the continuous maintenance of the subject facility.
- Knowledge of the performance of routine maintenance on various systems and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Knowledge of laws, legal codes, government regulations, and local municipality codes and how they apply to the construction and maintenance of each facility.
- Minimum Required: Some college coursework, generally equivalent to AA degree
- Minimum Required: 2-4 years' of Facilities mgmt. or related experience.
