About You:
This individual performs a variety of automation engineering work in planning, designing, and modifying fixtures, tools, and manufacturing processes to support the department standards. Resolves engineering problems involved in the manufacturing of parts or products.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Determines and troubleshoots manufacturing processes and equipment at all levels of complexity (robotics, automations and manual stations).
- Identify, lead, and implement, process and equipment improvements, and update operator instructions to reflect changes.
- Addresses and documents cause and corrective action issues to prevent future problem occurrences.
- Establishes manufacturing standards for equipment and process for the Department.
- Engineers tools, fixtures and gauging modifications. Designs and implements quality improvement systems and error-proofing.
- Maintains and updates tooling drawings using SolidWorks.
- Responsible for training employees on equipment and processes.
- Develop, design, and specify process equipment, including programming changes necessary to maintain production standards.
- Coordinate day to day issues and project work with the maintenance staff such as receiving, repair, and installation of equipment.
- Provide management with engineering drawings of new and proposed projects, plant layouts, and equipment modifications.
- Conduct time studies to continually expand and improve product cost standards. Calculates cost savings and makes recommendations based on analysis.
- Assumes additional related responsibilities as needed.
Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering/engineering Technology or related discipline preferred.
2 years of hands-on experience in troubleshooting robots and robotic systems.
2 years with Siemens PLC's
