Job Description
Stillwater Academy in South Jordan, Utah, is hiring! We are therapeutic boarding school for struggling teenagers ages 12-17 located in South Jordan.
We are looking for outgoing, adventurous and awesome parents who would like to make a difference in the world, work from home, and learn how to become a great asset to the next generation! It is a great opportunity to work with youth and help make a difference in their lives. As a Housing Parent you will provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students on scheduled nights and weekends. This is a position that can be done without interfering with a regular day job!
Housing Parents are compensated as 1099 employees. Please call for more information about financial compensation.
Stillwater Academy students are taught skills to help overcome issues such as trauma, addictions, unhealthy/struggling relationships, other mental health issues and family problems.
Responsibilities
Housing Parents provide our students with a family experience! Students participate in activities with your family such as preparing and eating meals, chores, homework, family games/movies, attending church service, etc. As a Housing Parent you will provide structure, supervision, and predictability as you model healthy relationship skills to students who will come to your home in groups of 3. Students follow program expectations designed to always keep them and the housing families safe. Schedule is flexible as you pick which nights work for your schedule.
Housing parents must live within a 30-minute drive of South Jordan. Weekday drop off and pick up times are 7:00-7:15 am and 5:30pm. Saturday drop off and pick up times are 9:30am-9:45am and 4:00pm-4:15pm. Stillwater is closed on Sundays.
Qualifications
Applicants need to have an extra bedroom in their home (at least 120 square feet) that students can use to sleep in.
Applicants must be dependable and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Training will be provided. Training requirements will be explained in the interview, along with the ability to shadow another housing parent to see the process in their home.
The position requires a high school diploma. All candidates must be at least 21-years-old and will be required to complete a background check.
