Accountant Position Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for creating periodic financial reports, maintaining accounting records through Epicor, and a complying to a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Accountant supports both the US and German business units.
Essential Functions for Accountant:
- Oversee the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries; research and reconcile discrepancies
- Reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Prepare financial statements; analyze financial statements for discrepancies and elevate issues to management
- Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare comparative income statements and changes in financial position; compare and analyze results to budget and forecast
- Assist in the design and preparation of budgets for review by management
- Coordinate fixed asset additions and disposals with 3rd party partner
- Prepare documentation for external auditors and coordinate annual audits
- Maintain and review bank accounts and statements; reconcile cash daily and monthly
- Process payroll through ADP; complete required regulatory compliance filings
- Complete various state and federal tax filings
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants; monthly bank reporting
Requirements of the Accountant:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Proven planning, organizational, and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Positive “can do” attitude; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
- Ability to multitask and drive actions to completion under strict deadlines;
- Sense of urgency, ability to prioritize tasks and meet competing commitments in a fast-paced environment
