Stoneworks Utah, a stone fabrication shop is seeking a qualified individual to join our team to help guide projects to their successful completion.
As a Project Manager at Stoneworks Utah, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing our commercial and residential projects. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our team, where you will not only oversee the execution of projects but also influence the direction and success of our company. You will be able to take pride in seeing a project go from blueprint to a bustling medical facility or to a beautiful custom home, all under your guidance. You will also be the main point of contact for our clients/designers/contractors and subcontractors to be able to ask questions about their building project, resolve issues, and coordinate schedules. You are not only the central leader of the projects but also a key player in the core management team responsible for the overall success of Stoneworks Utah. As such, applicants must be self-motivated, organized, willing to learn, have a strong work ethic, possess a customer service attitude and be able to perform the job requirements.
Requirements, including but not limited to:
· Coordinate production and approval of shop drawings to ensure they are accurate and reflect the customer’s expectations
- Verify field dimensions while reviewing and resolving any conflicting site conditions
- Manage the project budget to maintain profitability
- Work with our production team to verify the fabrication timeframe fits within the project schedule
- Communicate effectively with the client/designer/contractor, especially on project changes, material issues, or schedule conflicts
- Be willing and able to discuss difficult matters with clients
- Visit construction areas of residential and commercial buildings. This may involve ladders, manlifts, scaffoldings, etc.
- Document construction progress (comprehensive field notes and photographs)
- Coordinate punchlist and warranty claims to their completion
- Interpret and explain shop drawings to install crews and subcontractors
- Participate in and/or lead project meetings
- Review and evaluate change order proposals and contractor's pay applications
- Preparation and presentation of spreadsheets, graphical charts, reports and other written documents
- Mandatory computer skills and knowledge of basic MS Office products
- Experience in construction field is important, with stone fabrication experience preferred
- Knowledge of construction practices and vocabulary is necessary
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents (plans and specifications)
- Degree and/or license in construction management, architecture, or engineering is a plus
Education/Experience:
· High School diploma or GED (Required)
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, or related degree (Preferred)
· Construction experience of 3 years (Preferred)
· Project management experience of 5 years (Preferred)
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will need the ability to sit for extended periods during office work and to stand and walk for long periods on-site, navigating uneven surfaces. They must frequently climb stairs and ladders, use hands to handle tools and controls, and occasionally lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds. Candidates must tolerate various weather conditions during site inspections and be physically capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are also essential for managing project tasks efficiently.
