What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Venue Groundskeeper position at Stonehouse Villa?
We are a wedding venue located in the Texas Hill Country outside of Dripping Springs, TX looking for an enthusiastic and experienced property manager to handle property maintenance, landscape upkeep and also handle setting up for events.
You will be helping to up-keep venue grounds to a manicured look, as well as conduct all set up and breakdown for events, and complete miscellaneous maintenance projects around the property.
Looking for a self-starter, someone who is able to accomplish projects, work alone and has great time management skills to get things done in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Property manager for outside of venue. Responsible for keeping venue in a pristine condition year round. Weekly responsibilities of up-keeping flower beds, preventing and eliminating weeds, trimming plants, and some mowing, pressure washing, cleaning, etc.
- Yearly responsibility of maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf and irrigation programming. Fertilizing and seeding lawn, flowers and shrubs, and spreading mulch and/or rocks. Trimming trees, hedges and shrubs.
- Responsible for table, chair and ceremony site setup and breakdown based upon client specific layout diagram. (This is manual labor and some heavy lifting is required). *Multiple events can happen in one weekend, which would require mandatory weekend morning event flip Saturday and/or Sunday morning.
- Maintenance repair and new project upkeep of venue. Addressing issues that may arise after each event and repairing before event.
- Having the ability to work on interior and exterior painting, caulking, hole/drywall repair, replacing rotten decking wood, addressing and repairing electrical issues, addressing and repairing plumbing issues, small engine repair, maintenance and tuneups of equipment, and misc. repair and beautification projects. Carpentry skills extremely helpful as well. Creative input is welcome!
Requirements
- The ability to work with little to no supervision, able to take ownership and control of the property.
- The ability to work quickly with time management skills and able to follow weekly to do lists.
- Organizational skills.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of seasonal and drought resistant plants.
- Knowledge of when to seed for grass during different seasons (winter rye & bermuda).
- Knowledge of how to use basic tools (lawn mowers, leaf blower, weed eater, saws, power washer, etc.).
- The ability to lift/carry 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of maintenance repair (electric, plumbing, carpentry, etc.).
- Full time position mostly Monday - Friday 9AM-5PM. When multiple events are scheduled within one weekend Saturday or Sunday morning starting at 8AM is required to flip event space. Monday and/or Tuesdays would be off for that week. Weekend morning availability is a must!
