JOB OBJECTIVE
The Product Coordinator with coordinate the artwork files, samples, and tracking of Michel Design Works products in development to support the on-time delivery of new product. Correspond with outside vendors throughout the sample development process with clear, accurate, and timely written communications. This individual must effectively and efficiently interact with a variety of other departments, such as Marketing (specifically the Catalog team), Shipping, and QC and will have a “dotted line” report to the Director of Product Development.
The Product Coordinator will be on-site in Katonah, New York. The position starts at $50,000 based on experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Product Coordinator will:
• Receive, organize, label, and route incoming print proofs and product samples for internal review and approval by the Art Department.
• Receive, organize, label, and route incoming new sourcing samples for internal review by the VP of Sales & Creative, as provided and instructed by the Product Development Department.
• Provide clear and accurate written comments (via email) to MDW’s vendors, as provided by the Design team, so that vendors can make corrections and/or be advised of product approvals.
• Track all incoming and outgoing shipments (via UPS, FedEx, etc.) of MDW and/or vendor proofs and samples. Ship out all color match printouts from the Art Department to vendors, for new/revised artwork files.
• Keep current and accurate tracking of the review/approval process in AirTable and/or Wrike, as needed for communications with other departments.
• Organize and maintain current product sample archives to ensure that the Art & PD departments have easy access to all projects in progress, as well as archive of approved product samples.
Requirements
EXPECTATIONS
• AA or BA degree preferred, or a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in trafficking, product development, print production, proofreading, or other relevant organizational and administrative role. • Strong computer skills required (Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat) and ability to learn new software systems (like AirTable and/or Wrike). • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
OTHER DUTIES
• Manage shipping and receiving details with regular UPS and FedEx deliveries to/from the Katonah office. Establish contact with shippers’ account managers to ensure clear communications. • Participate in regular Product Development and/or Design team meetings, as scheduled.
