Overview
The Director – Principal Equities will apply algorithmic trading strategies on appropriate financial exchanges. Develop and apply quantitative trading strategies across markets and asset classes to maximize client value.
Responsibilities
- Employ dynamic hedging tools and strategies to minimize firm risk and improve client execution quality.
- Perform market-making in exchange listed and over-the-counter (OTC) securities.
- Apply technical knowledge towards principal trading of the firm’s global macro risk book and client facing activities.
- Use the firm’s capital to assess risk on pricing securities in global markets.
- Assess and oversee the risk book as a portfolio of global stocks. Establish spread-trades and coordinate a swap book of hedged equity pairs.
- Refine proprietary trading systems, strategies, and methodology and develop innovative and custom execution solutions tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Leverage existing relationships with local brokers, clearing agents, depository banks and other market participants to drive efficiencies across the Securities Division.
- Provide middle office guidance to firm custodians and internal operations department to prevent trade fails in complex global market.
- Work with various ADR swap dealers to establish and unwind delta one positions.
- Utilize portfolio risk metrics to ensure the trading book stays within established risk parameters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration or International Business and three (3) years of experience as a Quantitative Trader or Equity Trader.
- The three years of experience must have included equities, FX, and futures trading, related risk management and delta and theta analysis, and high beta reversion trade development/execution.
