JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for managing and prioritizing incoming and outgoing shipments, including all documentation, communication and system flow while ensuring accuracy, quality and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality, as applicable and defined in plant and department procedures.
• Verify orders of deliveries from the Carriers and date stamp them as required to ensure timely unloading of product.
• Accurately manage shuttle priority list based upon planning and customer service communication.
• Manage dock schedule and work flow through Lean Logistics utilizing the schedule from Blue Jay and matching up with Infolog to extract full and partial case list for next day
• Creating and managing the stock transfer orders for shipments to CFC/Haverhill using SAP and making sure inventory is correct.
• Validate that all orders from Infolog for current day are accurate and all bill of ladings have been printed and transmitted to SAP.
• Represent the company with a courteous and professional demeanor while handling Carrier interactions on the phone and Driver interactions in the lobby
• Track previous day’s documentation such as cover sheets, loading documents, and copies of bill of lading and notify appropriate party for filing.
• Clearly communicate with the Yard and Warehouse regarding inbound and outbound of carrier trailers.
• Ability to train and support others on proper shipping procedures.
• Interoffice communication using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Follow department SOP and GMP guidelines.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• 3 – 5 year’s experience using a Warehouse Management System.
• Well organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, etc. in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
• Ability to operate in a team environment
• Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
