The Fleet Manager responsibilities include:

  • Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility,
  • Purchase/lease, acquisition, implementation, maintenance, safety of all tractors,
  • Manages a full-service Fleet Maintenance shop with one supervisor and 20 mechanics,
  • Executes major repairs (engine rebuilds, trailer chassis rebuilds, transmission repair), routine preventative maintenance (for 120 tractors and 700 trailers),
  • Accident investigation and recovery,
  • Employee and labor relations regarding contract application, resolving labor disputes, participate in grievances and arbitrations and comply with collective bargaining agreement,
  • Develops operating budget and capital expenditure plans for the department and
  • Ensures regulatory compliance with all state and local laws and regulations.
