What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Production for Local Poultry Facility position at Storey Farms?
We are a small family farm in need of an individual to join us in leading a small crew to run the production of poultry eggs. Farm equipment and pallet jack experience and some maintenance would be nice but will train the right person. Basic calculation skills will be needed on a daily basis. Bilingual is very helpful but not necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
- The daily organization and collection of stacking eggs.
- The staging, labeling, and organizing of eggs in a timely manner.
- This role involves many hours of standing, and periodically lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Experience in a production/warehouse environment, and experience using a pallet jack and forklift is mandatory.
- Entering information on inventory counts of eggs and poultry related material.
- Strong Math skills are required.
- Overseeing of egg machines and related parts, periodic inventory, and maintenance is needed.
- Great care in tending to chickens, nest boxes and eggs.
- Transfer of feed on the line and in the chutes.
- Keeping daily, weekly and monthly records of events transpired.
- Tracking team members in a positive and forward direction.
- Various other farm duties as needed or scheduled.
- Keeping area neat, clean, and organized at all times.
- This job requires repetitive hand use.
- Conforming to and following Storey Farms SOP Handbook policies.
- Use of FIFO.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is beneficial but not necessary.
- Lead/Supervisory role is required.
Requirements:
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to perform routine math calculations.
- High school diploma or equivalent needed.
- Ability to quickly assess critical or urgent situations.
- Must be willing to work indoors, outdoors and in varying warehouse environments and temperature-controlled areas.
- Bilingual very helpful, but not necessary.
Details:
- 7am to 3:30 pm with 30 min. personal lunch.
- 40 hrs. per week, full-time.
- 5 days a week M-F, rotate Sat. & and Sun.
- $17 to $20.00 per hour.
- This is a nonsmoking, non-vaping facility.
