What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at Storm Search?
Basic Function: This position is responsible for maintaining a strong technical understanding of the facility’s equipment and systems. Plans, directs and coordinates the design, construction, modification, continued performance and preventative maintenance of equipment and machines within the facility. Manages the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the equipment, including CNC machines, hydraulic presses, kilns and ovens. Supervise and coordinate the work of employees, who repair and maintain the equipment, as well as outside 3rd party vendors. The Maintenance Supervisor has direct accountability for tracking and driving operational improvements at the Plant, conducts regular audits and is the champion of follow-up actions. Also, assists with operational design and implementation of new equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will be a technical and safety knowledge resource for the plant population. The successful candidate will be expected to lead, motivate, drive results and facilitate learning for maintenance employees along with hands on management of onsite projects.
Responsibilities and Competencies:
- Ensures the operating efficiency of all major pieces of plant equipment (from raw materials to finished products).
- Establish key performance indicators (KPI’s) for department and track daily.
- Lead efforts to develop and implement safety, quality, continuous improvement and 5S throughout the functional area.
- Assist the Team with the development of risk mitigation and accident prevention programs in order to minimize or eliminate risk to employees and facility.
- Responsible for the management & development of the maintenance department employees.
- Continue technical education around machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Able to determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities/procedures, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Responsible for examining objects, systems or facilities, and analyzing information to determine needed installations, services or repairs.
- Able to compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor or outside contractors.
- Able to make recommendations on improvements or take corrective action; Continuous Improvement driven.
- Responsible for requesting materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment or replacement parts while maintaining department budget/spending targets.
- Responsible for inspecting, testing and measuring completed work – ensure proper functioning.
- Responsible for training others in maintenance activities, including operators conducting preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for monitoring work areas or procedures to ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Skills:
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools.
- Ability to use various measuring instruments.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing maintenance or engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with hydraulics, high-precision CNC machines and PLC controls a plus

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
