Senior Private Equity Fund Accountant

The successful Senior Private Equity Fund Accountant will work as part of the Fund Services team by building & leading the group's private equity fund services offering to its private equity fund clients. The incumbent will ensure that the group’s fund accounting services are aligned with the client SLA’s, all internal and external deadlines are understood and met, and that all operational policies, procedures and checklists are followed. This individual will have an opportunity to work closely with our sales and senior management teams to pave the way for the future of group’s offerings in the Private Equity space.

Essential Functions

• Serve as groups SME on accounting related matters (Pref calcs, Waterfall reviews, Distribution analysis) 
• Daily oversight of all production related activities and management of client SLA deliverables 
• Coordinate with internal support teams and serve as client point for assigned relationships to ensure client satisfaction 
• Review and oversight of operations staff work driving efficiency and workflow improvements 
• Lead ongoing assessments of the key components of quality service delivery, including effective design of departmental procedures. 
• Review & signoff of investor capital call/distribution notices 
• Review of investor funded and unfunded commitments 
• Review & signoff of P&L allocations 
• Review accuracy of distribution calculation and waterfall models taking into consideration potential hurdle rates, preferred return rates ect.  
• Review IRR for accuracy 
• Implementation/setup and onboarding of new clients 
• Additional functions as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.?  

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.  

Travel 

Minimal to no travel is required 

Required Education and Experience 

• 2-3 years of private equity fund accounting experience 
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, or Economics OR an equivalent combination of education and experience 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Working knowledge of Excel functions and an experienced user of accounting allocation systems. 
• Very comfortable in understanding and navigating through Partnership Agreements with practical knowledge of how to implement fund structures on accounting platforms 
• Ability to learn on the job quickly, apply learning to clients and recommend solutions to issues 
• Ability to quickly adapt to changes in processes and update internal procedures in a rapidly changing environment 
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
• Superior problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills 
• Ability to think independently, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines 
• Extensive Microsoft suite skills - Excel (pivots), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
• Experience with NTAS/PENTAS and Eagle is a plus.
