What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collision Repair Estimator position at Straight Line RV and Boat?
Straight Line RV & Boat, a family-owned RV & Boat Collision Repair and Paint Shop, is in need of a RV and Boat Repair Estimator. Experience in the RV or auto body industry is preferred but not required.
A successful candidate must have a valid drivers license, a good driving record, and have excellent communication skills. The position is full time 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday - Friday with overtime as needed. Compensation base pay with bonus structure 30K-75K depending on experience.
Responsibilities
-Educate customers on the process of RV or Boat repairs, insurance procedures, and repair techniques/options.
-Inspect units for damage to the structure, body, roof, glass, interior if affected, and necessary refinishing to bring the RV or Boat to pre-accident condition.
-Prepare comprehensive estimates and supplements
-Note any non-collision damage or maintenance issues that may need repair
-Specify all needed repair operations, replacement parts and labor operations and/or sublet operations to be performed
-Assist with correct part numbers/measurements
-Negotiate with insurance adjusters to maximize RO values
-Check-in vehicles and maintain constant communication with clients regarding updates on repairs
-Manage each repair throughout the process by recording changes, ordering additional parts, and documenting with photos and notes.
-Keep every customer fully informed and updated on the status of their vehicle and provide the best possible experience for our customers.
-Communicate with the Repair/Body Technicians to ensure the work is done correctly and on time.
-Handle the disbursement of paperwork, address exceptions in the file and ensure all requirements are complete

-Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Have the ability to communicate between the shop, customers, and office staff
-Strong ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks, with ability to function in a fast pace, independent work environment.
-Effective planning and execution ability
-Knowledge of dealing with Insurance partners preferred
-Knowledge of Mitchell estimating software preferred
