Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative candidate for the role of Senior Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will manage and streamline various areas of accounting. The individual will collaborate across the company as a business partner to ensure organizational needs are met in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable, which includes monitoring the AP inbox, invoice and credit memo entry, review of purchase order coding, routing invoices for approval including follow-up, investigating, and responding to vendor inquiries, and other tasks associated with the function.
- Collaborate with business partners to understand the accounting implications of significant/unusual contracts and transactions.
- Obtain supporting documentation and enter cash and credit card transactions.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end close workbooks, including investigating any significant/unusual fluctuations between periods.
- Prepare journal entries for review.
- Assist in the preparation of external auditor requests, including financial statements and related disclosures.
- Assist in the implementation of new policies, procedures, and systems.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or advanced degree in Accounting or similar field; CPA highly preferred.
- Direct experience providing accounting services to a life sciences client and/or functioning in house at a life sciences startup organization highly preferred.
- Exceptional project management skills and proven track record of generating deliverables in a timely manner.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic and entrepreneurial early-stage environment.
- A strong team player with excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently.
