FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt
SUMMARY: SABG is hiring for an Acquisition Specialist JrBFO Group 4 to support DHS FPS in Washington D.C. The JrBFO Specialists analyze, assess, and evaluate as part of a team providing consulting acquisitions services in the Federal government environment. The JrBRO Specialist will be responsible for steering and/or initiating the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources working with team members. This position shall be able to analyze elements of a problem or situation and identify potential solutions, as well as ability to interpret policies, regulations and directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The general responsibilities of the Acquisition Specialist are as follows, to include but not limited to:

  • Analyze, coordinate and support all contract information reporting, project work, resource planning, and logistical functions of a program, division or organization
  • Observe discrepancies, trends, and interrelationships in data or activities
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis
  • Execute and maintain the business and reporting process of office assignments
  • Facilitate the program office, division or organization acceptance of recommendations and revised strategic directions

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:
The Acquisition Specialist shall have the following qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in either law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, communication, project/program management, quantitative methods, or organizational management.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in conducting acquisition and acquisition support activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and analysis of technical and cost data
  • Ability to read and interpret procurement policy, regulations, and directives
  • Ability to develop complex acquisition packages in support of government contracting staff, research acquisition issues, advise customers and other internal contracting staff on specific assigned acquisition issues
  • Contractor must be proficient in various types of information technology resources such as Microsoft Office including Word, Access, Strong in Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The contractor must be adept in the operation and utilization of contemporary office machines (i.e. copying equipment, fax machines, scanner, etc.); proficient in searching and obtaining documents from the Internet.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

CLEARANCE: Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a DHS Suitability assessment clearance

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
