JOB TITLE: Strategic Planning Analyst Intermediate

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL (Redstone Arsenal)
REPORTS TO: SABG Program Manager
FLSA STATUS: Regular Full-Time Exempt
SUMMARY: SABG is hiring a Strategic Planning Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) at Huntsville, AL.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Assist Redstone Arsenal, AL MDA/DS with Strategic Planning activities.
  • Responsible for the tasking of external actions addressed to the MDA Command Group to the appropriate Director and Program Executive organizations within MDA using the Task Management Tool (TMT) and the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).
  • Review staff packages submitted for MDA Command Group approval/signature for proper formatting, grammar, and completeness.
  • Support TMT Action Officer meetings to monitor Command Group actions through the Portal Forecasting Tool.
  • Extensive coordination between MDA and other DoD Agencies including the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment.
  • Receive, review, and analyze correspondence, delegating actions and information to the appropriate principals.
  • Distribution of approved/signed MDA correspondence to the originating organizations and action officers, coordinating re-works when necessary.

SUPERVISION: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Capable of providing expertise in Strategic Planning, Programmatic and Communication techniques and processes to support stakeholder requirements. Has specialized relevant knowledge and works as a member of team and assists with solving complex problems. Working knowledge, skills and abilities using Microsoft Office and Adobe software suites is required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with seven years of relevant experience is required. Or, a Master’s Degree and three years’ experience; AA/AS Degree and nine years’ relevant experience; or High School diploma with eleven years of relevant experience maybe substituted for Bachelor’s.
  • Must possess strong writing and analytical skills to conduct planning and trend analysis
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to support multiple projects, work well within a team, interact with multiple levels of management, and be able to manage customer and contractor relationships
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skills in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.
