About the Positions
Strategic Capacity Group (SCG) is hiring Project Coordinators and Project Assistants based in Cañon City, CO to serve on SCG’s Global Operations Team and provide on-site event support to ensure the seamless deployment of a corrections training program for participants from around the world. These positions will be responsible for all operations and logistics, including advance set up, on-the-ground participant engagement and assistance, and event close-out. Working as a team and liaising with operations staff based at SCG’s Headquarters in McLean, VA, these positions will communicate with sponsors, hosts, participants, trainers, and vendors to ensure the seamless execution of participant arrivals and departures, lodging, local transportation, catering, site visits, interpretation and translation, and cultural events. These positions will also support instructors to ensure high quality classroom interactions and provide monitoring and evaluation support to capture programmatic impact.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
· Fluency in English required. Proficiency in at least one other foreign language (e.g., Spanish) highly preferred.
· Proven experience with event planning and execution, and logistics.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
· Proven ability to work well within a team setting, collaborate with others, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Willing and able to organize and participate in cultural events, site visits, and other post-training activities with foreign officials, including during weekends (flex schedule).
Project Coordinator
· Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
· At least two years of full-time, relevant work experience including planning events; selecting, negotiating, and managing vendors; providing diplomatic and responsive customer service and problem-solving support; dealing with travel-related emergencies and logistical hurdles; working with foreign officials, dignitaries, and/or working internationally to plan and/or deliver events.
· Proven experience supporting project implementation overseas, including event planning and execution.
· Experience working in or with the U.S. State Department or U.S. Embassies overseas (preferred).
· Salary range: $50,000 - $57,000 commensurate with experience.
Project Assistant
· Up to two years of work experience. High school diploma; Associate Degree preferred
· Salary range: $40,000 - $52,000 commensurate with experience
