Clinton Transit began in 2001 as a system of volunteer drivers transporting elderly and disabled members of the community. Today, our curb-to-curb system continues to keep people connected regardless of challenges, disabilities, and situations. The "Blue Bus" is a demand response system with transportation running only when people have requested a ride. Our mission is to keep people connected by providing safe and accessible transportation to all those who may need it in Clinton County.

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team in this new role. As the Finance Manager, you will manage the day-to-day accounting and finance functions of Clinton Area Transit System ("Clinton Transit"). This includes providing a system for Clinton Transit to maintain its financial records in compliance with all federal, state, local and professional requirements. May work remote 1-2 days per week.

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate should be able to:

• Maintain book of accounts and daily reconciliations
• Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
• Prepare financial reports including MDOT Operating Assistance Report
• Report payroll
• Oversee annual audit
• Maintain procurement documentation for capital assets
• Prepare grants and oversee administration of grants
• Oversee executive office assistant responsible for A/P & A/R data entry
• Contribute to strategic plan and driving improved processes

The ideal candidate should exhibit a commitment to community, excellent communication, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. In addition, we look for:

• 2-3 years of general accounting experience preferably in nonprofit or government
• College degree in accounting is preferred
• Through understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, rules, and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
• Experience with accounting and other software programs (BS&A, MDOT PTMS, ProjectWise)
