Summary of Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare and implement Battery Production lines to support new model launches.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager at the satellite office, the person in this role will support the Powertrain Battery PE department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Start of Production (SOP). In the short-term, planning, process evaluation and validation will occur at other locations until this facility is up and functional. More details to come later.

Essential Job Function
- Developing process plans for battery production lines within the Powertrain department with direct support from Manager.
- Directly supporting other engineers / technicians through a mentorship
- Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of machining or assembly battery production lines.
- Creating and maintaining detail schedule and budget for assigned area.
- Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 10 years of equivalent experience in Battery manufacturing
- Experience in manufacturing for assembly, machining, paint, body weld or stamping (3 years Required, 5 years Preferred)
- Experience in creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment (3 years Required, 5 years Preferred)
- Experience in detail schedule creation and utilization on capital projects (3 years Required, 5 years Preferred)
- Experience planning and implementing mass production support for production lines greater than 9K capacity per month (3 years Required, 5 years Preferred)
- Project management experience dealing with capital investments greater than $500K
- AutoCad experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D drawings
- Ability for business travel, both domestic and international, short and long term. Short term travel Japan, Local Vendors, Etc. could be up to 75% until site location and machinery arrival begins. Upon site location the normal travel both domestic and international will reside to 20%
- Ability to work weekend and shutdown work (such as July and December holidays) as needed
Added bonus if you have
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering / Technology
- PLC experience, including the ability to investigate and troubleshoot (3 years Preferred)
- CNC experience, including the ability to interpret NC code and make machine adjustment (3 years Preferred)
- Robot experience, including the ability to interpret code and teach (3 years Preferred)
- Experience and/or exposure to battery manufacturing process
