Responsibilities
- Determine sizes and protection needs for products and design appropriate container.
- Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using power and hand tools.
- Examine and inspect containers, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met.
- Place products into containers, using hoist or forklift.
- Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
- Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
- Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and pneumatic tools.
- Load crates onto trailers for shipping
- Use forklift to gather waste from production areas and deposit in dumpster
- Maintain work machines and tools
- Clean and maintain work area
- 1-3 years experience in a similar role required.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the day to take measurements, cut lumber, etc.
- Frequent bending and twisting at a medium pace to assemble crates, obtain lumber from racks, or to take measurements
- Constant reaching at or below shoulder height to use tools, build crate and affix band.
- Frequent reaching above shoulder height to obtain lumber and build crate.
- Occassionally lift up to 100lbs up to 4' high at a distance of up to 20'.
