Overview
Job Summary: This position will contribution to the oversight and accuracy of the general ledger system, including monthly close activities, job cost accounting, margin calculations, audit information, and the related financial reporting. Additional associated activities preparing cash forecasts, reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, monitoring the effectiveness of our accounting systems, analytical problem-solving skills, and managing data platform transitions. This position will provide additional ad hoc reporting as necessary, helps to resolve problems by communicating with department heads, and assist in developing best practices for the organization.

Responsibilities
- Reconciling Balance Sheet accounts including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Customer Deposits, Unearned Revenue, Sales Tax Payable, prepaid accounts, Intercompany, Concur, and Accrued Liabilities.
- Preparing closing documentation to ensure the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledger are reconciled to the general ledger.
- Preparation of the monthly financial reporting packages including the review of Profit and Loss Statements, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows, and Summary of YTM Margin Reporting.
- Review and prepare invoicing for Job Cost reports and maintain the Job Cost / Inventory system, review margin performance and variances, and make adjustment as necessary to ensure accuracy in revenue reporting.
- Participate and the development of SMART performances objective that measurable, attainable and challenge based on the employee’s level of experience.
- Prepare journal entries and accrual-based accounting practices in accordance with GAAP.
- Main lead and liaison for ad hoc requests from Operations.
- Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies, due diligence agencies, or other external parties.
- Participate in the coordination of the annual budgeting process (Revenue).
- Development of a detailed forecasting process for revenue.
- Strong FP&A experience is critical i.e., the individual needs to understand how to build detailed margin reports, adjustments impacting margin calculations, and how overhead, freight, and other non-direct cost impact margins.
- Assist with other ad hoc requests.
Qualifications
Skills
- English is the primary communication language. Ability to speak, read, and write in English are required.
- Requirements include mastery over basic arithmetic concepts, basic statistics knowledge, and financial reporting typically required to complete month-end deliverables – detailed margins reports showing the calculation of COGS, financials showing calculations of expenses of SGA, and high-level reporting showing calculations of EBITDA.
- Energetic & out-going with strong interpersonal skills who can communicate cleary orally and in writing.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel level knowledge is required.
Education, experience, certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance/Accounting is required. A CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum three years of experience in an accounting supervisory position.
Physical and mental demands
- This position is based within a general office with typical office physical demands including sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, bending to reach file cabinets, and occasional lifting packages less than 25 pounds.

- The primary work environment this position encounters includes the conditions found within a general office. Some travel may be required.
