StreetLight pioneered the use of Big Data analytics to shed light on how people, goods, and services move, empowering smarter, data-driven transportation decisions. The company applies proprietary machine-learning algorithms and data processing resources to measure travel patterns of vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians that enable complex transportation problem solving using analytics available on SaaS platform, StreetLight InSight®. Acquired by Jacobs as a subsidiary in February 2022, StreetLight continues to provide innovative digital solutions to help communities reduce congestion, improve safe and equitable transportation, and maximize the positive impact of infrastructure investment.


StreetLight Data  is seeking out an energetic, responsible intern to help carry out our mission of creating better data for better transportation decisions. You will have an opportunity to make an impact, develop personally and professionally, and learn from people who are experts in their fields. Whether you work with our mobility experts, data scientists or business services teams, our hope is that you find the duties and projects to be fulfilling and that your Internship with us is rewarding and positive.


Candidates may be located remotely or in one of our offices in the San Francisco, CA or Richmond, VA regions.

Responsibilities:
  • Actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with the team to which they are assigned
  • Fulfill tasks as set out by supervisors 
  • Perform research at team's request
  • Assist with event handling/preparation
  • Understand the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service
  • Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship
  • Provide suggestions to management for improving customer service and internal processes
  • Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain PowerPoint presentations
  • Manage databases and input information, data, and records
  • Research and gather documentation on company position in the industry
  • Attend company functions


Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in a four year college
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well on teams
  • Has a strong work ethic and attention to detail 
  • Must be a self-motivated problem solver and a desire to learn new technologies  
  • Should have the ability to research and understanding of how to apply various technical resources  
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time 
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and effectiveness in working with a high performing team 
  • Eager to tackle new projects and ideas
