General Purpose: In order to assist clinical staff with patient's health related needs, the Sonographer administers ultrasounds to patients for diagnostic purposes.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operate and oversee operations of ultrasound equipment and produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
- Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
- Use safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Review and evaluate developed computer generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
- Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
- Record, process and maintain patient data and treatment records, and prepare reports.
- Coordinate work with clerical personnel and other technologists and consult with clinical staff.
- Demonstrate new equipment, procedures, and techniques to staff, and provide technical assistance.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
Non-Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

*Please note, the pay range listed for this position is a scale. Pay will be calculated based on years of experience in healthcare and/or related to the specific qualifications of the role.

Qualifications
A successful candidate will possess the following education or formal training:
Education or Formal Training:
- Associate degree in ultrasonography required.
- ARDMS certification in Ultrasonography is required.
- Previous experience as an Ultra sonographer or Ultrasound Technician in a clinical environment is preferred.
A successful candidate will possess experience:
Experience:
Previous experience using ultrasound equipment and EPIC electronic health records (EHR) is preferred.
Material and equipment directly used:
- Cell phone and Computer, iPad, printer, multi-line telephone systems, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, and all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and the internet.
Working environment/physical activities:
- Office environment within a clinical setting. Moves about the office environment and to other locations. Moves objects up to 25lbs and 50lbs occasionally. Communicates information to others. Discerns/analyzes information from others to assist in decision making. Enters data into computer programs via computer, mouse, and keyboard.
