All components of this Internship Experience align with Pennsylvania-Commonwealth and the National
Association of School Psychologists (NASP) guidelines for training, certification, and professional practice.
The School Psychologist Intern will benefit from a rotational pathway allowing them to have interaction and
experiences spanning from K-12 with opportunities to assist with Early Intervention cases.

Essential Functions
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential
    duties.
  • Provides data-informed recommendations as a result of initial student evaluations or re-evaluations
  • Reviews, interprets, and designs evaluation reports as testing/educational data is provided by
    contracted evaluators
  • Develops individualized consent forms and other essential documentation for parents and legal
    guardians to be fully informed of proposed actions related to student eligibility
  • Collaborates with personnel through a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) process to promote
    research-based interventions during the pre-referral phase
  • Assists in the development and implementation of web-based school-wide positive behavior
    interventions & supports (SWPBIS)
  • Utilizes clear communication when discussing evaluation findings with student support and/or IEP
    teams
  • Partners with Special Education Compliance & Instructional Supervisors regarding student onboarding
    escalations and/or family consultations as needed
  • Serves as consultant for special education teachers, parents/guardians, administrators, & local
    agencies
  • Collaborates with the School Psychologist team, and various other educational professionals on
    department and systems-level initiatives
  • Collaborates in pre-referral, referral, and post-referral procedures with educational professionals
  • Identifies & delivers professional development training sessions based upon ongoing or emerging
    school-based needs

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or Educational Psychology, AND
  • Education Specialist (advanced graduate certification) equivalency
  • Active State (Level I) or National certification in School Psychology
  • Must pass all PDE required clearances for school-based employees

Minimum Required Skill Set
  • Master's degree in School Psychology or closely related field AND
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, and/or other related fields

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND/OR CLEARANCES:
  • Department of Human Services Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check
  • Federal Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) - Dept of Education ONLY
  • Clearance with Act 168 Employment History Review
  • Letter(s) of recommendation & or sample redacted report(s) upon request


OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Comprehensive & up-to-date knowledge of various types of norm-referenced assessments
  • Knowledge of MTSS practices and procedures

REQUIRED SKILL SET
  • Highly developed team-based coordination & problem-solving skills
  • Specific expertise in IDEA eligibility factors, PDE compliance regulations, and procedural safeguards
  • Highly developed knowledge of eligibility factors for analyzing and generating re/evaluation reports
  • Ability to travel for occasional required all-staff events (professional development, state testing, etc.)
  • Outstanding professionalism in interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in establishing and/or modifying priorities as student and/or department needs arise

PREFERRED SKILL SET
  • Proficiency in computer-based web applications, databases, spreadsheet reports, virtual collaboration software, and other multi-media solutions
  • Comprehensive instructional knowledge and relevant work experience in a special education setting
  • Extensive knowledge of Chapter 711 PA regulations for special education
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices in school psychology
  • Skilled in collaboration with various educational teams (e.g., MTSS, interagency)
  • Strong proficiency in web-based instructional programs and/or progress monitoring tools
  • Ability to produce letter(s) of recommendation upon request

• This is a flexible position with opportunities for in-office or remote work options. The noise level in the
office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
• This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be
less than 20% of the time. Travel will be required for student testing and meeting any other
requirements of the internship program.

6. Ability to interface diplomatically with all members of the school community - administrators,
teachers, parents, students, Board members, support staff, colleagues, and outside professional
contacts.
7. Ability to coordinate and use technology for a variety of workplace purposes and communications.
8. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
