This position is based in Ft. Laramie, WY

This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of construction work performed by Strobel Energy Group. This position is for an industrial project in Southeast Wyoming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the EHS practices to ensure QUALITY, WORKER HEALTH, SAFETY and ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROLS are being effectively implemented in the field.
  • Lead, train, and develop construction staff.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance and operational excellence are achieved in the quality and EHS realms.
  • When requested, participate in customer meetings to build relationships and bridge expectations.
  • Maintain and develop quality and safety cultures among all employees.
  • Ensure that the Quality Assurance Manual is followed on the day-to-day task for the field work they are assigned including earthwork/concrete; field welding; mechanical bolting; coatings and hydrotesting.
  • Maintain Weld and Heat Maps for field work, manage the NDE “shooter” sheets for the associated NDT methods.
  • Perform the required inspection of the work, pre concrete placement verification, welding inspections, bolt tightening, applications of coatings including blasting to the latest revised drawings.
  • Prepare and update various logs and registers on site.
  • Participate in and promote corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure that employees receive the proper quality and safety training to perform their jobs.
  • Routine interface with supervision, engineering, human resources, and other site support teams.
  • Provide advanced first aid support to field staff
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or four years equivalent industry experience.
  • Background in heavy civil and industrial construction quality and safety practices
  • Demonstrated safety competencies: excavation, mobile cranes, work at height, electrical safety, hot work, and hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrated health competency in: first aid, heat stress management, workers compensation management, and toxic gas detection.
  • Demonstrated environmental competency in stormwater management, spill prevention and control, air emissions during construction, and solid waste management.
  • Ability to understand and monitor the quality attributes for material traceability, welding parameters, and application of field applied coatings, in addition to flange tightening and proper gasket installation to approved SOP’s.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills for a multifaceted work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication
  • Detail oriented and customer focused.
  • Familiar with applicable Federal, State and Local regulatory agency requirements, as well as Industrial Constructions work standards (API, ASTM, ANSI, ACI, etc.).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
  • Must be able to see well enough to read gauges, precision measuring instruments, schematics, maintenance manuals as needed.
  • Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and others within the company 100% of the time.
  • Must be able to reach with arms and hands to perform inspection, maintenance and repair duties when needed.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat 100%.
  • Must be able to use hands to grasp, handle, and feel 100%.
  • Must be able to climb and balance well enough to mount equipment by climbing up and down steps as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
