POSITION OVERVIEW

As Software Quality Engineer for Metrics and Algorithms you will play a vital role in ensuring software integrity and drive continuous improvement on software quality and performance while working in a cross-functional team to deliver best in class backend, mobile, and web applications to our clients. 

Software Quality Engineers structure, formulate rules-based and pattern-based tests, and write code to discover, implement, execute, and manage those tests. Software Quality Engineers can specialize in software engineering or on the automation of work (more experienced engineers may wish to become proficient in both). 

In this role, you will work embedded in a product-based squad and contribute to the team’s success by defining a solution approach with Analysts and Managers and delivering a high quality work product. As a member of the team, Software Quality Engineers need to be comfortable in a role that requires constant learning, maintaining regular communication with team members, working collaboratively in an agile environment, adapting to changing circumstances, and modeling Ultranauts’ core values of respect and excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Work in conjunction with Developers and Engineers to ensure high quality deliverables
• Design, build, execute, and maintain automated tests by analyzing complex systems and/or manage deep profiling runs to ensure products and pipelines meet expectations
• Support analysts by providing technical insights to close gaps in understanding
• Work collaboratively with analysts, engineers, subject matter experts, and managers to apply analytical methods to satisfy client needs
• Track, monitor and document testing results
• Participate in the growth of the DQE practice by sharing knowledge and lessons learned, continually improving best practices, and contributing to methods that will systematically advance workforce capabilities
• Partner closely with discipline members from the various Product teams to ensure that Quality and Learnings are spread to have everything it needs to test, work and release the aligned Product vision.

KEY REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience with minimum 2 years experience of testing algorithms or data analysis or platform services
• BS/MS in a quantitative field such as Computer Science and Information or equivalent, such as Systems, Software Management, Software Engineering, etc.
• Understanding of QA testing and other methodologies including the concepts, designs, and usage of unit, integration and e2e tests.
• Familiar with one or more test automation frameworks used for API Testing
• Experience in automating workflow with various scripting languages is a plus
• Familiar with Gherkin (BDD) methodology is a plus
• Experience with various testing frameworks and GCP knowledge is preferred
• Experience with agile development in a collaborative environment is a must
• CQE is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
