STRUCTURAL offers a wide range of specialty repair and maintenance services and is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States, with roughly 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets. STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group.
We are recruiting for an Estimating Coordinator to be based in our Hawthorne, NJ office. As an Estimating Coordinator for STRUCTURAL Northeast, you will be responsible for supporting bids and estimates of complex self-performed construction projects that make our nation’s structures stronger and last longer. Projects typically consist of concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, structural strengthening, etc.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Learning the Company’s estimating and bidding process
- Visiting job sites to learn the project scopes and how to effectively sell the work being performed
- Assisting in the collaboration and generation of proposals
- Interacting with leadership to aid in the Estimating and Business Development process
- Using various tools and resources to identify projects to target to convert those leads into potential bid opportunities
Successful candidates should meet the following criteria to be considered for this exciting opportunity:
- 2-3 years of work experience, preferably with a general contractor or other specialty contracting firm
- Bachelors degree, preferably in a technical degree path of Engineering or Construction Management
- Demonstrated professional or technical writing skills
- Proven interest in speaking in front of groups of people to deliver presentations
- Ability to travel 60% of the time – mainly to & from job sites, client meetings, networking events, tradeshows, etc. Some travel may require out of state or occasional extended travel
- Ability to work at high heights primarily when visiting chimney related projects
