Purchasing Clerk
Summary:
As a Purchasing Clerk you will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend and search for better deals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Execute purchasing strategies, and provide feedback pertaining to process improvements.
Follow policies and procedures related to generating PO’s.
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
Track price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power - follow and monitor lumber market.
Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
Monitor and control inventory to include oversight of part numbers and SKU’s.
Basic Requirements and Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including proficiency in Excel.
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management.
Interest in market dynamics along with business sense.
A knack for negotiation and networking.
Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
Solid judgement along with decision making skills.
Experience in a purchasing/procurement related field.
Working Environment and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee maybe exposed to airborne particles.
The employee must be able to safely move throughout the necessary production areas and wear required protective equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to sit and talk or listen.
