Job Posting – Operations Support Manager

Progressive Industrial and Structural Mechanical Systems are seeking an Operations Support Manager based out of our Portsmouth, VA office and Machine/Fabrication shop. This is a full time, permanent, and Exempt position, with opportunity for remote working options and a flexible schedule available for fill January 2023. An individual in this role will provide general support to all levels of each company’s operations, as required by Company Presidents & Operations Directors and other members of the Central Management Team.

A person in this role will pull from their vast experience of Industrial and Marine maintenance and repair to provide support throughout both organizations in the areas of (but not limited to):

• Shop Fabrication Organization
• Estimating, Bids & Proposals
• Provide assistance and guidance to all Project Managers
• Material Ordering & Status systems
• Development of Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Provide expertise in Workforce Development Programs & NCCER Accreditation Standards. Providing Craft Instruction.
• Production and Production Processes development.
• Safety & Quality Systems programs
• Human Resource Support
• IT & Operations Information Systems recommendations, integration, and compliance
• Marketing and promoting corporate capabilities
• Implementation of Company Strategic Planning requirements
• Integration of Company Operational Management systems information with Financial Management

Qualifications:

• Proven history of Operations Management in Industrial and/or Marine Maintenance and Fabrication
• Part of a company management team for many years
• Knowledgeable and connected with potential customer base in Hampton Roads and beyond

This position will primarily be an office position, though visits to the field and in the fabrication and machine shop will be expected.
