Stryker is seeking to hire a CAD Specialist, R&D to support Stryker’s Surgical Technologies Business Unit. This role is focused on engineering design work using Computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment. The role will also include uploading and managing files in Stryker’s OnePLM document control system. This is an onsite/hybrid role located at our Portage, MI location.

What you will do-
Under minimal supervision, the CAD expert performs computerized graphic operations on products and component parts, writes and edits drawings with respect to engineering change orders, conducts training of less experienced peers, and leads projects of varying complexity. Uploads files into the database and manages project files for updates and approvals. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team and to support a product integration as well as new product development.
- Prepares and maintains detailed design drawings, schematics or specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Creates, modifies and controls detailed two- and three-dimensional parts and assembly drawings from engineers' sketches, plans and written and verbal instructions.
- Works closely with design originators (e.g., engineers, designers) to resolve design details or discrepancies.
- Develops and maintains drafting standards and procedures.
- Will write engineering change orders and route data and documentation through the document control system.
- Will provide CAD training to others.
- Transfer and translate drawings from one computer system to another as needed.
- Will execute routing design projects, to include stack up analysis, part design, and related tasks.
What you need:
Required:
- A.A.S. in CAD or related design Engineering curriculum or equivalent experience
- 2 years CAD/design software related experience required (4 years preferred)
- Must be able to create and design in 3-D wire frame and solids.
- Must be able to analyze and resolve routine CAD issues of a moderate scope using independent judgement.
- Able to use common CAD equipment.
Preferred
- Previous experience with medical device data and print creation
- Previous experience with Stryker’s document control system or equivalent.
