The role of the Director, Data Migration Services will oversee the planning, scheduling and execution of data integration and transformation, and data migration. This role will be responsible for the orchestration of migration of data from legacy systems into MDG & S4 systems to meet Stryker's business requirements. With extensive SAP implementation experience, will focus on data conversion & migration, data quality management, data governance and integration with S/4HANA. The Director will lead the implementation of Data Migration framework as per data migration architecture using SAP Data Services. Providing technical and leadership oversight to design of appropriate data migration solutions.

Essential duties & responsibilities: (detailed description)

  • Data Services Vision and Strategy: Responsible for contributing to and executing the Global Data Services strategy, data governance, and deployment framework.
    • Leading development and deployment of strategic and tactical data initiatives focused on data conversion & migration, data quality management, data governance and integration with S/4HANA.
    • Oversight of planning, scheduling and execution of team activities related to focus areas such as data management and governance, data integration and transformation, and data migration.
    • Provides technical leadership to Solution Architects, Technical Managers, and implementation partner leads and subject matter experts in designing Data Services solutions based on business requirements and project deliverables timelines per industry best practices.
    • Supports Ecosystem integration designs, leveraging ERP data models and data migration strategies. Provides subject matter expertise and governance for Stryker’s legacy MDM applications like SONIC, GIM, etc. and Accelerate ERP.
    • Integration design and development experience in replicating master data between MDG and SAP/Non-SAP legacy systems such as Oracle, JDE, QAD etc. Translate business requirements into a data migration plan.
  • People Management and Leadership:
    • Responsible for supervising day-to-day activities of technical managers, architects, and senior team members. Provide technical leadership to the data migration leads; Govern and control the Data migration work stream plan and dependencies; work with the business and program leads to align on the plan, dependencies, etc.
    • Provides technical leadership to manage and prepare for solution readiness, data cleansing, data migration, and training.  
    • Responsible for inspiring and motivating team members and keeping the enthusiasm going by providing individualized coaching when needed.
    • Manage a diverse and globally dispersed team of technical managers and architects to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality program deliverables.
  • Vendor and Managed Service Partner Management: Manages relationships with managed services technology partners. This includes:
    • Hiring and onboarding of contractors for Stryker’s Data Services projects and initiatives.
    • Manages and coordinates with external suppliers and deployment partners through the entire system development lifecycle to ensure they meet their contracted deliverables, agreed-upon timelines, and performance against measured KPIs.
  • Management of Operations, Support, and Maintenance Services: Drives managed service partnerships to high-performance levels for operations, support, and maintenance of Data Management applications. It includes:
    • The formulation of deployment strategies to ensure reliability and scalability for Organization systems, establishing deployment metrics and ensuring each division, function, and region is measuring pre and post “Go Live” success metrics,
    • Working closely with IT Service Delivery teams to ensure implementation of post-production support model and processes,
    • Ensuing timely escalation and mitigation of issues and risks to ensure smooth deployment process, and Partners with the IT Governance team to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, standards, procedures.

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in the areas of Computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required.
  • Master's degree in MIS, MBA or related disciplines preferred.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of IT experience; leading a team, setting priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives.
  • 8 years of orchestration of data migration from legacy systems into SAP/S4 (or similar system) to meet business requirements.
  • SAP experience required.
  • 5  years of leadership responsibility managing internal and external teams, influencing senior-level management and stakeholders; medical device or other regulated industry preferred.
  • Experience in multiple end to end Large ERP implementation projects that included multiple master data domains - material, supplier, customer and Finance master etc.
  • Knowledge of master data best practices and industry standards
  • Experience developing partnerships with the technical and business teams utilizing strong communication and team building skills.
  • Strong experience in planning and executing cut-over activities.
  • Experience working with business leaders is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control.

  • Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills – oral, written, listening, executive presentations   
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business representatives at all levels to identify needs, define and document requirements, and drive solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to guide the business towards optimal solutions       
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process optimization, process redesign, or development of new process/policies     
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex business functions into technical specifications         

$141,000 - $239,00 salary plus bonus eligible Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data.  Actual minimum and maximum may vary based location.  Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
