Please note that this is a voluntary role with minimal compensation. $1050 earn for the work of finding host families to be matched with foreign exchange students who are in our system who are hoping to come to the US and then supervision of the student for the school year. 7 placements earn a free paid incentive trip to another country. This year we will go to Portugal. This role is ideal for people looking to be involved in their community and make new international connections.

STS Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing memorable cultural exchanges for high school students wishing to visit and study in the US. Our mission is to foster greater mutual understanding in our world and to empower young people to grow through the power of cultural exchange.

Our ideal candidate is an individual with a passion for youth, a desire to make a difference in their community and someone who is enthusiastic about working with people and building strong relationships. Someone experienced in working with youth is a definite plus!

Provide memorable experiences to Host Families and Exchange Student:

You will foster and grow our cultural exchange program in the community with your friends, family, and school administration. Your primary mission will be to support and recruit volunteer host families to host an exchange student. You will be provided guidance, inspiration, and host family recruiting tools to successfully place exchange students with qualified host families and high schools in your community and neighboring communities.

Expectations of this role:

  • The ideal candidate for this role will be a people person who is compassionate, understanding, a good listener, well organized, and someone people can rely on
  • You will be a Mentor and Advocate for their exchange students and represent the STS Foundation in their community. You will support, recruit, and oversee host families and school administrators in your local community
  • The Local Coordinator will actively promote the STS Foundation in her/his community through recruitment efforts on social media, email marketing, press releases, and public service announcements through suitable outlets. Marketing content and training will be provided by STS Foundation.
