Position Summary
As an Aircraft Interior Finisher, you will be responsible for applying various wood finishes, including gloss and satin, to aircraft interiors. This position requires a blend of skill, precision, and an understanding of finish processes to develop and complete luxurious aircraft cabinet finishes.
Essential Functions
- Perform paint and finishing techniques for major aircraft modification projects.
- Accurately identify and match colors for project requirements.
- Work independently on detailed finishing projects as needed.
- Apply knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, and other finishing materials.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop and its surroundings.
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on shop facilities, equipment, and tooling as required.
- Understand and implement dry sanding, wet sanding, and other finishing processes.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is preferred but not required.
- At least 3 years of experience in aircraft cabinetry finishes or a related field.
- Proficiency with various chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) and safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of paints and spraying equipment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to maintain a high pace of work.
- Capable of processing work with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
