What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Superintendent position at Stubbs Construction Services LLC?
We are looking for an experienced professional to lead our construction team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in both on and off-site work, will be highly active in the day-to-day construction process, and will ensure that project deadlines are met and proper quality standards are maintained. The successful candidate will be proficient in scheduling and organizing teams to handle different aspects of the building process.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Schedule and supervise members of a construction crew.
- Coordinate work activities with outside groups such as engineering firms, architects, regulators, and contractors.
- Train and assign personnel to equipment, materials, and tasks.
- Maintain records of the whereabouts of equipment and materials.
- Select appropriate construction methods for specific conditions and terrain.
- Work with owner's representatives and design team to ensure work meets or exceeds the drawings and specifications.
- Be responsible for procurement of tools, materials, construction equipment and delivery to conform to work schedules. Maintain a clean and organized site.
- Monitors contractor compliance with project safety program requirements. Follow, implement and enforce safety policies. Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, OSHA, work rules, etc.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Five years' supervisory experience using similar construction methods, equipment and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling.
- Ability to control and supervise groups.
- Strong organization, multi-tasking, leadership and decision-making ability.
- Basic computer skills.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); engineering, cost and safety required.
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisor skills essential.
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
