As District Transit Director, You Would Be Responsible For
- Developing and maintaining a pipeline of transit related opportunities.
- Achieve targeted hard and soft backlog.
- Serve as a technical lead, project member, Project Manager, Program Manager, or in a quality control role on an assortment of projects throughout the district.
- Collaborate with the Southern US area managers, other regional area managers, the South/Central Regional Transit Director and presidents, and national specialists to identify opportunities, build-up emerging markets, and enhance established markets.
- Assure business operations comply with all corporate policies and procedures. Seek efficiencies to improve productivity.
- Lead and/or guide special transit focused projects and business processes to improve the operating efficiency of the division.
- Collaborate with the South/Central Regional Transit Director, Region Manager and President to prepare key transit priorities for the coming month, quarter, and year.
- Collaborate with the Southern US area managers on staff recruitment, training, and development necessary for a robust transit practice.
- Support the annual strategic business plan providing all inputs on performance targets for transit-related activities.
- As associated with transit-related projects; conduct pricing reviews and project reviews; define project delivery strategies, oversee and manage transit projects and pursuits, and assist in growing staff resources.
- Work with area managers and project managers to improve profitability, cashflow, and accuracy of estimates to complete.
- Identify poorly performing projects and create and implement recovery plans. Oversee project risk management.
- Advocate and champion learning, process improvement, staff recruitment, and project management best practices. Prepare special reports on key large-scale projects related to financial and technical performance and risks including financial mitigations.
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree; Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; Technical and business development knowledge of the Transit market, preferably hands-on experience as a Project Manager.
- Experience in management of staff and utilization performance.
- Significant experience leading and accomplishing mission critical initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Strong analytical skills and Microsoft excel, and database skills required.
- Strong communicator and collaborator with nationwide management team and clients.
- Strong time management, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Digital technology enthusiast and advocate.
