What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental specialist position at STV?
STV has an Immediate opening for an Environmental (NEPA) Engineering Specialist to work on a wide variety of environmental projects under the supervision of mid-level and senior environmental professionals.
This position can be in any of the Texas Mountain Region offices Austin, Dallas / Fort Worth area, Houston, San Antonio, or Oklahoma City.
Responsibilities :
- Support mapping and data analysis for a variety of environmental projects.
- Perform GIS data analysis including feasibility and constraints analysis.
- Create high quality mapping and data products.
- Support Project Managers and technical staff with mapping, data management and project tasks.
- Assist with gathering data and preparing environmental report documentation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
- Assist with technical studies (noise / air, waters and biological studies, community impacts, environmental justice, land use, hazardous materials) and preparation of technical reports for various local, state, and federal agencies.
Qualification :
- B.S. or M.S. in Environmental Science, Planning, Biology, Geographic Information Systems, or related field; or Certificate in Geographic Information Systems.
- 1 to 4 years' professional experience.
- 1 year experience using Esri ArcGIS software : ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel). Experience with MS PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator a plus.
- Positive attitude, initiative, and ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Knowledge and working experience with ArcGIS Online, StoryMaps and Dashboards.
- Sound data management and data organization practices.
- Familiarity with cartographic methods and ability to read and understand maps.
- Ability to manage deadlines and effectively communicate with others.
Compensation Range :
$60,235.00 - $80,313.00
