We have a thriving Transportation & Infrastructure practice with a close-knit, team-oriented group in Owings Mills, DC, & Fairfax. Due to our success, we need to continue to add resources to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work. This backlog includes projects and tasks associated with various transportation infrastructure improvement projects for Federal, State, County, and municipal departments of transportation and other clients.
STV is looking for a Traffic Design Engineering Specialist to work on-site supporting one of our top public sector clients at their Office of Traffic and Safety in the Traffic Engineering Design Division.
This role offers unlimited opportunities to play a critical role in delivering the projects, interact directly with senior staff and clients while promoting the culture of a healthy work-life balance. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who desires to work in a team-environment, displays confidence, and possesses a solid understanding of and desire to learn Traffic Engineering & Project Management tasks. This position will work on-site in Hanover, MD but will have frequent contact and communication with STV’s Owings Mills, MD office.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge in the design and review of traffic control device plans
- Experience with GIS applications in transportation
- Experience with CAD/MicroStation
- Able to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to perform independent work under minimal supervision from the Team Leader
- Effective communication and good customer service skills
- Possession of / interest in obtaining a Maryland Professional Engineers license
Salary : $75,100 - $95,000
