What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Continuity Manager position at Sub-Zero Wolf?
The IT Manager’s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The IT Manager will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices. This manager will be assigned a specific focus area that has the potential of overseeing other supervisors.
Business Continuity Manager Focus:
- Develops and maintains a business recovery plan and procedure; reviews, revises, and expands existing plans and protocols.
- Conducts risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable business interruptions such as natural disasters, security breach, legal claims, and market disruptions.
- Collaborates with IT staff to develop and implement best practices to protect and restore data and systems
- Creates and facilitates practice drills for business continuity plan execution.
- Supports and/or leads processes that support business continuity governance requirements
- Provide visibility and reporting to the Business Continuity Steering committee on the critical functions, individuals, and infrastructure within the plans
- Acts as subject matter expert for business continuity management
- Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives, and convey business needs/expectations.
- Identify and make recommendations for change and adaptation to meet the needs of the business
- Facilitate and support the execution of the plans at the time of a crisis event.
- Establish, maintain, and test Emergency Communications plan
- Attend professional meetings, read literature, and participate in training or other educational offerings to keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
