Position Overview
The Kitting Department assembles LJ & MJ splice kits for use by internal (OPS, CJS) and external Customers of SubCom. This position is supported by the Senior Manager of the Kitting Department. The candidate will ensure that the Kitting Department continues to meet production goals necessary to ensure we provide our customers with an ECE by providing quality kits in the required timeframe.
Essential Job FunctionsLevel Impact Language:
- Inspect, clean, package and kit the machined parts and bought-in items necessary for LJ and MJ splice kits.
- Responsible for area and equipment maintenance & cleanliness.
- Responsible for various assembly work of modified parts.
- To oversee and be responsible for the entering inbound parts into inventory.
- To oversee and be responsible for the packaging of splice components to specification.
- To be responsible for the kitting of components to specification.
- To be responsible for the preparation of kits for international shipping.
- To assist in maintaining required stock level of necessary packaging & kitting materials.
- To keep workplace and kitting area in a safe, clean and organized condition.
- Inbound inspection of good inward, including machined/manufactured part. Must verify critical dimensions and designs are met by supplier using various measuring tools.
- High School Diploma required, some experience in assembly or mechanical work. ·
- Basic hand-tool and assembly skills. ·
- Familiarity with the MS business software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure production goals are met.
- Requires ability to pass Fork Truck training/licensing program
- Requires ability to use hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, scissors, etc) during assembly work
- Able to pick, inspect, count, sort and package very small parts
- Ability to stand for several hours
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
- Familiarity with subsea splicing components
- Familiarity with general warehousing and logistical work
- Familiar with use of micrometers, calipers and other measuring equipment
