We seek an exceptional candidate for our LIMS Administrator position located in Reading, PA. Suburban Testing Labs is a stable yet innovative company that's been successfully operating for 60 years. We recently launched a new line of business for PFAS testing and are continuing to expand our operations in PA, MD, NJ and DE.
The LIMS Administrator will work with our Element system and interact with all levels of staff across our company of approximately 100 employees. LIMS - Element is our primary business system and is critical to our lab operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and improving the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Additionally, the incumbent will develop and implement LIMS related processes that enhance and streamline operations across all departments.

What Will You Be Doing?
- Serve as the owner of LIMS and related support system implementation for the company.
- Perform routine maintenance of LIMS to ensure peak performance including upgrades, service packs, etc.
- Oversee LIMS and LIMS-related programming (e.g., DataTool, reports, general use). Identify and correct system errors and improper use.
- Execute implementation and maintenance activities within LIMS. Oversee these activities when performed by end users.
- Deliver continual improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancements to leverage LIMS for our operations. Leverage or obtain internal process knowledge to create novel methods of LIMS utilization to achieve operational objectives.
- Provide data for end users and management using queries and reporting tools.
- Work with laboratory equipment manufacturers to understand and maintain LIMS-equipment interface, as needed.
- Provide employees with LIMS training and support. Provide support for day-to-day questions of LIMS users.
- Interact with our company I.T. vendor (they are located locally in Reading, PA) as needed.
- Develop and maintain general knowledge and understanding of our clients, lab methods, capabilities, accreditation, quality assurance and related areas.
Core Competencies
- Strong knowledge of LIMS capabilities and operation.
- Highly proficient in a Windows environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills combined with solid interpersonal capabilities.
- Programming knowledge of SQL, VB and Access.
- Proficient in advanced Crystal Report creation and maintenance.
- Exceptional prioritization, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Able to manage several concurrent projects and work under pressure.
- Familiarity with I.T. systems in a Laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job experience
- 2 to 5 years of experience in LIMS or related database administration.
- Certified training in an I.T. related field or equivalent

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
